Mosaic & Sidewalk PoetryThe mosaic project brought together neighborhood kids, artists and engineers to create colorful mosaics on bland tree rings that had become depositories for trash downtown. Urban art trail founders noticed that often down and out people looked down so they decided to collaborate with local calligraphers to paint permanent sidewalk poetry and uplifting quotes on the ground. Using a permanent paint called Relay that is used to paint the floors of shopping malls they transcribed hand done typography using a plotter and stencils. The results were inspirational. |
